Installation, dimensions variable Materials: hand-dyed fiber, found object Shelter was a site specific installation at the Carrack Gallery in Durham NC. A part of the Bull Meets Bayou group exhibition that worked to connect Level Collective artists from New Orleans LA and Durham NC based artists, this exhibition allowed artists to learn from each other, create work together and share discourse of what it means to be an artist today. Along with the culminating exhibition, Bull Meets Bayou offered artist talks to the community and, Johnston helped the organization start a residency program for underrepresented artists in the Triangle area. |
